4th December 2010The most successful day in Skye's show career was achieved today at the Exonian Canine Society open show where she was awarded her first Best of Breed (hopefully the first of many) and later in the day took Pastoral Group 3. Andrea

16th October 2010Worksop Open show, held today at the Newark showground, saw Ellie win another 1st place. After the border classes Irene agreed to handle someone elses beardie, yes - a beardie, as a favour. Together they won the Post Graduate class and went on to take Best of Breed. That certainly looked strange - seeing Irene handling a beardie again after all these years !  Mike

26th September 2010A BIG first for Ellie at Cleethorpes show today - she was awarded her very first Best of Breed beating, amongst others, both Becky and Harry (even though Harry won his Open class). Needless to say we are very, very proud of her.  Meanwhile, at the same show, Ruby took 1st place in a Post-Graduate Welsh Springer Spaniel. Well done to both Ellie and Ruby ! Irene & Mike

19th September 2010And today it was an "Ellie" day because at the Border Collie Club of GB Open show she took 1st in Junior, 1st in Maiden and then followed them with a 2nd in Novice. Irene & Mike.

18th September 2010Today at Darlington Champ show it was a "Harry" day. He was placed 2nd in Veteran Dog in the breed (with the winner of the class going on to win Best Veteran in Group) and Harry followed this by getting 3rd place in the Veteran Stakes winning £5 into the bargain. Irene & Mike.

28th August 2010Out of puppy with a BANG! Skye  really exited her last puppy career in style by winning 1st in Junior, Best Puppy in Breed and then followed this with Best Puppy in Pastoral Group. Needless to say I was absolutely delighted. Andrea

After a bit of a lay-off, we got Harry, Becky and Ellie Mae out to an open show (Wath & West Melton) today where Ellie Mae was given 3rd in Graduate and Harry got 2nd in Open with Becky coming in 3rd behind him. It was nice to get out again and the dogs really enjoyed themselves.Irene & Mike

4th July 2010Windsor Championship show was held yesterday in extremely hot conditions but despite this heat both Becky and Ellie Mae had a brilliant day! Becky's veteran class was held at the end of dog judging as it was a mixed class (ie both dogs and bitches together) and , much to our delight, Becky took 1st place enabling her to go to Cruft's 2011 with her brother Harry and her little "sister" Ellie Mae, who took another 2nd place in her last puppy class. So all three showdogs in Team Fenacre (Lincs) will be attending Cruft's 2011 where they will meet the youngest member of Team Fenacre (Devon) - Skye (Andrea's beardie). Irene & Mike

20th June 2010Ellie took 1st in Puppy today at Pinxton & DCS show today, following it with Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed. Becky got 1st in Open beating Harry into 2nd place. In the competition for Best Puppy in Show Ellie was pulled out to the last 10 or so puppies but got no further. So basically not a bad day at all. Irene & Mike

16th June 2010What a day we had Monday! Gina who had been feeling a little "off colour" for a week or so but with nothing definite as a cause, was giving us worry all over the weekend and being decidedly unwell on Monday morning Mike took her to the vet as we now had an inkling as to what it might be. The vet, who had seen her on the previous Friday, was also concerned and a blood test was taken which showed a high level of white blood cells, confirming an infection. With some of her other symptoms pointing towards it she was operated on for a closed pyometra. She is now making a wonderful recovery and was getting back to her old self less than 24 hours after the op. All the other girls have been really good to her treating her with gentleness and concern - Harry would have too but he lives outside. Fingers crossed she makes a full recovery  Irene & Mike

11th June 2010Skye continued the good work at The Royal Cornwall Show today with Best Puppy in Breed and she also won the AV Minor Puppy Bitch class. Andrea

Well done to both Skye & Andrea, Irene & Mike

6th June 2010A really good day at Southern Counties Champ show - see Ellie's page for details. Irene & Mike

30th May 2010Bath Championship show today saw Skye qualify for Crufts's. See Skye's page. Andrea

22nd April  2010Our copy of the official photo from Harry's Best Veteran in Show on 5 April has been received and can be seen in Harry's Gallery by kind agreement of photographer Lewis Baucutt. Irene & Mike

15th April 2010Ellie Mae had a really good day at Mountsorrel Society open show last weekend. She won the Puppy class, went on to take Best Puppy as well as Reserve Best of Breed and then in the Puppy Group she came in a very creditable Group 2, her best days work by far. Well done Ellie ! Irene & Mike

5th April 2010What a great day today for Harry at the Eastwood show held on the Newark & Notts showground. He won AV Pastoral Veteran and then, after waiting until after BIS at the end of the day, he competed against the other group veteran winners and was awarded Best Veteran in Show under BIS judge Alison Mount. Irene & Mike

28th March 2010Ellie & Harry went with Mike today (yes, he was let off the lead)  to Retford society open show. Despite having trouble with the car they got there just in time for judging. Ellie Mae came straight out of the car into the ring and consequently got 3rd out of 3 in a junior class but, being the only puppy, eventually was awarded Best Puppy in Breed. Harry was shown in open and took first place and went on to take Best of Breed. Unfortunately, due to the earlier car problem being diagnosed as camshaft bearings both Harry and Ellie were withdrawn from further competition. We hope that our fellow exhibitors will understand this withdrawal as getting everybody home in good time and safety was paramount. Irene & Mike

20th March 2010Today saw Ellie Mae gain her first win in puppy at West Torrington & DCC open show and we were both very pleased with the way she performed. Following her award of Best Puppy in Breed she underwent a Gonioscopy test on her eyes where the examining vet said "she's got lovely deep angles". Later on she went into the Puppy group but by this time she had totally "lost the plot" and therefore did not get placed. Irene & Mike

1st March 2010Saturday 27th February saw Ellie Mae attending her second open show, North Lincs Dog Club, where she was again placed 2nd in the puppy class and behaved even better than last week. Irene & Mike

21st February 2010Yesterday we went along to our "normal" show place, Newark & Notts showground, for Matlock & DCS show. Ellie Mae was placed a credible 2nd in Puppy with Harry taking 1st place in Open. Irene & Mike

10th February 2010At the Midland Border Collie Club Championship show on 7th February Harry was shown in Veteran Dog and was awarded 1st place under Breed Specialist Sheena Kilsby. Ellie Mae had her second outing and although has yet to be placed behaved very well. Irene & Mike

1st January 2010HAPPY NEW YEAR !
